Safe Sanctuary Worship

Dear Friends in Christ,
Our Staff Pastor Parish and Leadership and Ministry Teams have revisited our opportunity for worship options on Sunday mornings. We continue to seek how we can be faithful witnesses to the Gospel of Jesus Christ during the COVID-19 pandemic. For the last few months, our Sunday worship has been available through live streaming through YouTube, drive-up services and FM radio in our parking lot. We are excited now to also be able to have worshipers in our building for worship in the Sanctuary starting on Sunday, September 6, 2020, at 10:30 am.
Please note that online worship and FM radio in our parking lot will continue to be available.
To ensure the safety and well-being of all those who gather in our building for worship, we will be following the Minnesota Annual Conference of the UMC guidelines which are based on the Minnesota Department of Health guidelines. These guidelines may feel awkward as we worship together on site and via streaming, but we ask everyone to honor them and love their neighbors in these ways. Our sanctuary will be sanitized every Saturday and will be unoccupied and unused by any other groups during the week before our Sunday worship for our safety.

•If you, or anyone worshipping with you, have had any of the following symptoms in the last 14 days, please stay home and worship online.
COVID-19 symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.
Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea. (CDC)

•  We encourage you to take your temperature and remain home if it is 100.4 degrees or higher.

•   Ushers will also offer to take your temperature at the door, offer hand sanitizer, remind you of our requirements to wear a face mask/covering, and to physically distance at least 6 feet at all times.
•  We encourage those who are vulnerable, elderly, or have other health concerns to worship with us online.
•  We require face masks to be worn at all times by all worshippers. Worship leaders may remove masks when speaking/singing. Worshippers are invited to hum the worship songs. Masks will be available if needed.
•  We will practice physical distancing of 6 feet at all times, from non-household members.
•  Ushers will direct you to your pew as you enter the Sanctuary. At the end of the worship service, ushers will direct you as you leave starting with the back. We may have additional markings/guides as needed.
•  We will Share the Peace from a distance. Be creative – a smile, a wave, air high five, farmer’s steering wheel one or two finger wave, etc.
•  Offerings can be placed in the offering plates at the back or through online giving options as listed on our website.
•  On Communion Sundays, a pre-packaged wafer and cup of juice will be handed out upon entry.
•  Refreshments will not be served at this time. You are always welcome to bring your own covered coffee/water with you.
•  You are always invited to greet one another (6’ apart) outside or in the Commons Area. Before and after worship, we ask that you not congregate in the entry area.
•  Upon your arrival, two greeters at each entrance will take your temperature and ask you to sanitize your hands and wear the mask. An additional two ushers in the back of the sanctuary will take you to seats for worship.
•  You may bring your mug or cup covered with lid to drink water or beverage in the church since the water fountains are closed.
•  Restrooms will be open for use. However, we will allow them to be occupied by one person at a time.
Thank you in joining together to keep this virus out of our building and to keep everyone safe and healthy.
Peace and Love,
Pastor Woojae
