Greetings from the Pastor

Welcome to the United Methodist Church of Peace, Richfield, Minnesota!

I am Jin Hur, an ordained pastor as a Full Elder at the Minnesota Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. I studied Church Music (Vocal Performance) at Seoul Theological University in South Korea and earned a Master of Divinity degree at Candler School of Theology at Emory University, Atlanta, GA.

I believe God created all creatures, called people into everlasting and unconditional love, and gave grace through the Incarnation of Jesus Christ.

I believe Christ Jesus broke the wall between God and humans by eliminating discrimination, obstruction, and restriction for transforming the world.

I believe the Holy Spirit comforts, guides, and empowers all the people of God to make God’s reign which is the space of bringing good news to the marginalized, binding up the broken-hearted, declaring liberty to the oppressed, and proclaiming the year of the Lord (Isaiah 61:1-2a).

Therefore, I believe the Church, as the One body of Christ, should nourish God’s people to stay away from all kinds of evil, such as hatred, discrimination, and injustice, and make disciples of Christ who practice holiness in patience, generosity, faithfulness, self-control, and inclusiveness through the ministries of the Church.

I have married Grace Hur for 24 years and have three grown sons.
